Mexico's three largest crops include sugar cane (49.7 million tonnes), forage/alfalfa (28.2 million tonnes) and maize/corn (17.6 million tonnes). From these crops you can infer that Mexico has a subtropical climate, as all of these thrive on warm and humid climates.

These crops however, don't tell the whole story. Besides these, Mexico also is a lead producer of other agricultural products such as meat (6th largest producer worldwide), poultry (5th largest producer) and tomatoes (10th largest producer). Which are often found on more temperate climates.
