If you know these moves well enough to use in a bad situation, it is a boost to your confidence, and you may even have the nerve to be assertive when necessary.
If you decide on learning a fighting system, consider learning one that utilizes dirty fighting tactics that are easy to do and does not take years of learning fancy fine motor skill moves to use. But, if you have no choice but to fight, use no more force than necessary to neutralize your opponent.
