Tire weight is a huge factor in gas mileage; use a tall, lighter tire ( load range B) unless you need a heavy ( Load range C,D) for what you use the truck for. For power and mileage, consider a K&N air filter and flowmaster mufflers.
Answerits been my experience that to increase mileage ain't nothing better than a light throttle foot. later model trucks come with a computer that tells you exactly how much fuel the engine is consuming in real time. once you get up to speed from a stop, 100 or 200 rpm can make a huge difference in fuel consumption. hook a flow gauge up to your truck and you will see. i get the best mileage from mine when i drive with the computer set to show instant mileage. that way i get direct feedback when i am stepping on the gas.The Chevrolet Silverado's gas mileage varies from 14 (in cities) to 20 (on the highway) EPA MPG. It is of course possible improve your mileage by, for example, changing oil. Most synthetic oils should help you improve you mileage.
Yes and no. A manual transmission uses less HP to turn the wheels than an automatic but you have to be able to drive it well to make up for the ease of an automatic. If you can half way drive a manual the answer is usually yes.
If there is a regular sized oil pan in the F250, then it is 6 quarts for an automatic. Take it to a shop to have it pumped out to improve the system.?æ
There is a lot to consider when swapping transmissions as far as performance is concerned. However changing from an automatic transmission to a manual transmission will typically improve the efficiency of your drive train. You lose power with a torque converter, because it's constantly "slipping" in order to drive the transmission's input shaft. General rule of thumb for older makes is that with an automatic you'll have lost about 20% of your engines output by the time it reaches the pavement, and with a manual you will only loose about 10%. NOTE: Newer automatic transmissions have been built to be much more efficient than I am reflecting here.
The 383 stroker kit is only designed to improve engine performance. It has nothing to do with the transmission. So in short, depending on what trans you prefer to use, it can be either manual or auto.
I would like to know how to improve the towing capacity of my 2004 Chevy Silverado Z71. It has a 5.3 liter engine
what are you trying to improve???
By increasing the temperature to 0 C
Stage 2 shift kits are performance upgrades for automatic transmission systems. They typically include modified valve bodies, stronger springs, and sometimes replacement components to improve shift timing and firmness. This can result in quicker gear changes, increased torque holding capacity, and overall better performance of the transmission.
It is actually to "improve" the shifts of the automatic transmission. I can tell a difference when I do this but it does use more gas and I don't like that. It is not really a sporty car so I have a sports car to drive if I want firmer shifts.
facotry is set at 0 TDC but a 6-8 degree andvance will improve MPG's and more power, must run 91 octane if timing is set more then 2-3 degrees BTDC
The transmission fluid on a Toyota Sienna should be changed every 100,000 miles. This helps to prolong the life of the transmission and improve performance.
