You can contact them and sometimes you can work out a deal with them. If not, you can allow them to repossess the car. Contact the lender and they will tell you where to take the car.
No
No, but if they accept any payment, they cannot begin the repossession proccess
The lender will come after you for the remaining balance after the car is auctioned. You can either declare banckruptcy or work out a payment plan...or thelender can seek a judgment to garnish your wages.
Basically. YES. You decide you cant pay, you tell the lender you are moving, you move out, lender sells home(not as quik as a car), lender wants balance due on the loan.
When you bought the car, the lender paid the dealer for the car, and you are making payments to the lender, plus interest. The lender will not help you avoid paying him.
Your car was probably repossessed by the lender who owns the car until you pay for it. Call your lender and they will be able to tell you how to locate your repossessed car.
Its really a moot point because you are NOT hiding a car from the repoman. YOU wouldn't do that. And the lowly repoman CANT file the charges anyway. S/he doesnt have that authority to act on behalf of the lender. The lender wouldn't waste anymore money on the clunky car you alledgedly are hiding. IF they could put you in jail, how would you ever pay the money you owe?????
Don't Pay For It anymore.
There are situations where this is possible. The one that stands out is this: Your car was stolen. You stopped making payments on it thinking, "I don't have it anymore, so I don't need to pay for it." You turned in the report to the insurance company and they paid out, but you did not pay the lender off. Or, you did not have insurance or failed to turn in the claim, so received no money. In the mean time, the lender puts the vehicle up for repossession because you have defaulted. When you are contacted you tell the lender or repo agency the car was stolen, and continue thinking it is not your problem. The lender does not really want the car, they want the money you contracted to pay, so they sue you. You continue to refuse to pay, so the lender attaches your checking account. Yes, they can do this.
Yes until it has been sold by the lender, contact the lender and pay the bill
Pay it. negotiate with the lender for reduced payoff. The lender can get wage garnishment.ect. They will hound you till you pay.
No contact the lender and pay them. Once the lender has taken over the papers of the car/truck the dealer is out of the picture.
