A long list if GM cars and trucks, mostly V8's but also the 3.8L V6 and 2.4L i4...and one model Saab 9-7X (that has a GM made 5.3L V8 (That is a Quaker State specific number that can be cross-referenced for every other filter, for example Bosch 3332 is same spec filter, but superior quality)
typically, filters are used to clean air in both , however, in cars their also used to clean oil, and homes their used to clean water.

Fram Filters make filters for use in cars and other engines. These filters are mainly oil, transmission and fuel ones and are highly regarded in the motor industry.
Fits many GM cars and trucks from 1976-2008 plus 1994-1998 Saab.
Just make sure that you do not use cheap filters. Always use filters as good as OEM filters at least. Don't use FRAM.
Yes, brand and design matters. On VWs I use Mann and Mahle filters. The reason is the US brands have either a poor or non existent anti-drainback valve. This results in startup valve clatter and zero oil pressure at start. On US cars I use NAPA filters, why? Because they seem to be better built than consumer oil filters.
Of course! Check with NAPA Auto Parts, and use the term 'after-market'...
FRAM makes garbage oil filters, I cut one open and the inside was cardboard. I will only use pennzoil oil filters because It keeps the oil clean and they are very strong filters. The WIX filters are the best in my opinion.
all japanese, american made motorcycles have oil filters of some sort.usually a spin on filter
Lexus uses Toyota oil filters for their vehicles, so yes, you can use Toyota oil filters for your Lexus.
You do not have to use OEM filters. You should however use a quality filter. Purolator, Wix, Bosch, AC/Delco, Motorcraft, Mopar, and all OEM filters are quality filters. Avoid cheap no name filters.
