On the 89 it is the vacuum bypass valve - retail about $200 only from Ford.
I have never fixed mine. Have been driving it for 2 years like that.
Also I blocked the vacuum bypass and bolted it back on, I did see a small amount of idle decrees but not enogh to be worth the effort.
www. the ranger station . com ( no spaces ) lists engine swaps for 4 cylinder , V6 , and even a 5.0 L V8 but not the straight 6 cylinder engine , so I'm pretty sure it is too long
i have a 2003 ford focus zx3 when going down the road even at differet speeds at times it vibrates and starts to studder for a 3 or 4 seconds then the car resumes back to normal speed it almost feal like its cutting back
4.6engine v8 Ford Explorer how much. Even a good used engine from a wrecking yard will cost more than $150.
Check the rear struts
Engine color was Ford Corporate Blue; mix code is Pitzler No. PAR 13358 for acrylic enamel. Don't even mess with rattle cans, the color varies widely.
Yes, you can still scan
I have a 2001 Ford ranger 4x4 with a 4.0L SOHC engine. Supposedly the oil pressure switch is located at the upper passengers side in back of the engine block. I have yet to even be able to see let alone replace mine. Typical Ford engineering; crappy!
Most likely yes , the engine thermostat has failed in the open position - happened on my 1995 Ford Explorer even though I have always had the cooling system serviced
If my engine is hot, I would not even notice that as it evaporates very quickly...in hot oil.
It will bolt in, however, you will run into problems with the onboard computer. You will have to reprogram, or maybe even change it.
Find your distributor cap. (spark plug wires attach to it.) Follow the one in the center of the cap back. If you have the 302 (5.0) it's on top of the valve cover on the passenger side of the engine. As for stalling, how long is it running for? Is the engine overheating or even getting up to temp?
I believe the DOHC engine has ( 2 ) engine cooling fan motors even if you don't have air conditioning
