What causes a 1990 lebaron to stall when after a complete stop you leave the light and it stalls and then takes a few cranks to get going. 3.0l V6?

This happened to me i checked for codes using self test-i can't remember what number the code was but it was for the crank sensor-it's located in the distributor. Buy the chilton repair manual it explains how to check for codes and has the list. Very cheap in pep boys or autozone, etc.
