As people get older, the millions of cells inside them start to deteriorate. Whey you are young, the cells duplicate easily and freely, where as when you get older, your cells can't duplicate as well as before and you end up with an off balance of cells. That means that there is less and less living cells. this doesn't happen overnight but instead over time. It takes years for this to happen.
