Most newer cars and light trucks have the fuel pump mounted inside the gas tank.It is not abnormal to hear the pump run,but you should have to listen closely to hear it. If it is really noisy it could be getting to close to failing. In which case the vehicle will quit.
It is not common to hear a bubbling noise coming from you gas tank. It may be that your gas tank is too hot. You need to stop your vehicle and let a professional look at it.
you will need someone to turn the key on while you listen for a whirl sound coming from the gas tank filler neck.if no sound fuel pump is not working.
Im not 100% sure. but i have a 97 Monte Carlo. and i think i have isolated the sound to the gas tank expanding and contracting. it has a plastic gas tank, and the sound sounds similar to a plastic drum/barrel/container clunking from expanding/contracting.
it is the fuel pump because it is located in gas tank normal sound
check for a hole in gas tank. or seal on top of gas tank or hoses going and coming from tank.
i had the same problem with my car two and i found out that it was my fuel pump
Without hearing the sound it's hard to diagnose, but I would look at: Alternator, transmission, serpentine belt & pulleys, depending on where the sound is coming from.
Cause the gas tank houses the (prepare yourself for this one) gas!
Probably not the tank but the fill tube, or fuel lines coming from the fuel pump
yes it definitly does !! It allows moisture in your tank!!
Common causes are a loose gas cap or a cracked hose between the fuel tank and engine.Common causes are a loose gas cap or a cracked hose between the fuel tank and engine.
