you have a vacumn leak.
could be your thermostat is stuck or perhaps and needs to be replaced.
Check the fuse first.
Check the transmission fluid on the 1995 Nissan Altima. Bad fluid can cause the transmission to shift harder on parts that are more worn.
If a 1997 Nissan Altima cuts off at a stop light, there is a problem with the fuel getting to the engine. When you are accelerating, there is pressure and a higher flow of fuel, which is why it won't cut off then. The problem could be a leak in the fuel line, the fuel pump itself, or a fuel filter. It will need to be serviced.
MAF
I am currently going thru the same thing. It is either the throttle plate or the recall that during engine movement causes the throttle-cable housing to pull out of its guide.
The 2001 Nissan Altima GXE might make a clicking noise and then turn off because of a bad solenoid or bad starter. This sound could also be due to a weak battery.
Could be the piston rings are worn out and as the engine sits, say overnight, oil seeps into the cylinders and on ignition this small amount of engine oil is burned off.
That sounds like a broken or loose strut assembly.
well, this is what my mechanic told me when i had this problem (still have it) with my 1994 Nissan altima: the altima's alternator isn't working well. so, the battery isn't well supplied... Solution: replace the alternator immediately or dont drive the car until u do so less you make things worse. bajah
