Musy smell is mold growing in bottom of evaporatoe coil case! Kits available commercially to spray disinfectant into duct system to kill mold but ensure you don't have any clogged drains first, and evaporator is difficult to get to, believe me!
Answer 2BG offers a product that cleans the evaporator coil. Its as simple, well actually not simple, as drilling a hole in the evaporator in the neck between the evaporator and the fan. then you attach a drain plug into the evaporator and spray in BG frigi fresh which cleans out all the bacteria and dirt. followed by spraying in another bottle of frigi fresh into the fresh air intake on the exterior of the car. and to clarify, the evaporator is generally located underneathe the dash board on the passenger side, and generally requires you to sorta hang upside down to get at it.Its located on the firewall on the passengers side............
Yes, that is the proper refrigerant.

its down on the passenger side of the radiator... it is just a small aluminum cylinder....
If equipped, there is an access panel under the dash on the passenger side.

No, not unless you have the proper equipment to recharge the system and/or dispose of the old AC refrigerant.
the air conditioner on out 1991 dodge caravan quit working. we changed the fan and it worked fine then stopped, the compressor clutch isn't trying to kick in. we need to find where the fuse links are to see if that is the problem
