Musy smell is mold growing in bottom of evaporatoe coil case! Kits available commercially to spray disinfectant into duct system to kill mold but ensure you don't have any clogged drains first, and evaporator is difficult to get to, believe me!
Answer 2BG offers a product that cleans the evaporator coil. Its as simple, well actually not simple, as drilling a hole in the evaporator in the neck between the evaporator and the fan. then you attach a drain plug into the evaporator and spray in BG frigi fresh which cleans out all the bacteria and dirt. followed by spraying in another bottle of frigi fresh into the fresh air intake on the exterior of the car. and to clarify, the evaporator is generally located underneathe the dash board on the passenger side, and generally requires you to sorta hang upside down to get at it.Wiki User
