What size Motor?
restabbing distributor and setting time I'm replacing 4 cylinder motor in a 87 Chevy s10 how do I install distributor and get the truck in time
AnswerI believe it is on the back of the engine. back by the distributor cap and such.Looking at the motor from the front, it is behind carb and to the right of the distributor. It has 3 wires on it.
Number one is the front of the engine, drivers side. But you need to time the motor from no. 8.
Defective Blower Motor Resistor Pack.
It can also be a blown fuse, or a defective blower motor resistor pack.
Most likely the gearbox mounts are failing and need replacing. This can cause this problem even when the engine mounts are fine.
The 3A has a mechanical distributor (points) and the 3AC has an "electronic" distributor.
remove the distributor cap. turn the motor by hand and watch the rotor on the distributor. once it moves turn the motor the other way. if rotor on distributor doesnt move amost imidiately after you start tuning motor by hand the chain has some stretch in it and most likely should be replaced. the motor will run noticably better with a good tight chain. if its a factory chain with nylon gears it is junk anyways. replace it with a quality metal geared set.
No, that engine does not have a distributor.
Check fuse if ok Check to see if getting power to fan motor - if ok motor needs replacing - if not may be switch or relay
No distributor , Coil On Plug ( C.O.P. ) ignition system
