Kenedy faced challenges from the spread of communism and the continuing threat of nuclear war. He was enthusiastic and committed to change. This lead to his being able to achieve the first agreement with the Soviet Union limiting nuclear testing.
He had the Cuban Crisis with having Russia remove war heads from Cuba and boycott of the island. His brother Robert was Attorney General and he went after the mob. The civil rights act was started and will be finished by LBJ and he put advisers into Vietnam. In serveral books I have read he actually planned to try to get the United States out of Southeast Asia in his second term. We will never know if would have been able to do that. The Cold War was also going on during his presidency and he went to Berlin to make a speech in front of the wall.
The Bay of Pigs fiasco was his first difficulty. Then he had problems with the Berlin blockade and the missiles on the way to Cuba. His health was bad, he was in pain and his doctor gave him dangerous drugs. He had affairs to juggle . Then he was assassinated.
It was the Russian and Cuban missile problem in the Bay of Pigs.

Bill Clinton faced a great many challenges throughout his lifetime. During his presidency he faced political challenges from the country and people.
George Washington did not face the challenge of governing during a time of economic recession or depression. He also did not have to navigate a major political party system, as the United States did not have political parties during his presidency. Additionally, Washington did not have to contend with a significant military conflict or war on American soil during his presidency.
