the earths iron core is spinning in the opposite direction than the earth...this creates a magnetic field in which encompasses all the suns harmful ways..with that being said...there is a basic scientific convergence on the thought that a pole could happen suddenly if the earth were struck by a large enough object. ANother seemingly interesting thought is the earth will inheret a pole shift as a direct coincidence of a galactic anlighenment in 2012 which the earth is seemingly getting closer and closer to the eclyptic.
