A number of them. Mercutio, Benvolio and their other mates all thought as much in Act II Scene 1. So does Friar Lawrence in Act II Scene 3.
well. she's a useless character really, but the fact that she would attend the Capulet party is the reason why Romeo went in the first place, where he met Juliet and never remembered his infatuaion with Rosaline again.
no well it sort of does with friar Laurence because the friar doesnt believe romeo really loves Juliet at first but then he decides to marry them to make peace in their families. So it did a little bit, but audiences don't tend to care that much.
Yes. He says "If I profane with my unworthiest hand . . ."
Rosaline Capulet is only fifteen years old. That one makes her only one year younger than Romeo and one year older than her favorite cousin, Juliet.
its ironic because romeos suppossed to be in love with juliet like the name romeo and juliet the whole crowd below knows their name and they think hes talking about juliet but hes really talking about her cousin
Not at all. He is playing at being a man in love, just as she is playing at being cold and aloof. These were conventional attitudes. Romeo doesn't really care about Rosaline. When he meets Juliet, it is like a slap of cold water in his face.
Not really because the character's flaw is impulsivness!
Romeo's family and Juliet's family were rival families. They had been arguing with each other for years. Since Romeo couldn't marry Juliet, he was very sad. Another sad thing: Juliet didn't want to marry another person so she drank a liquid which made her look dead. Romeo didn't know this so he killed himself for Juliet. When Juliet woke up, she saw that Romeo died so she killed herself. So at the end, they both died. Sad, huh. Boo hoo hoo. ToT
I would say Friar Lawrence. He was always level headed, thought things through, and made a good decision. This excludes when he left Juliet in the tomb and she then killed herself. Other than that he was the most level headed character of the play.
Rosaline is the daughter of the rich Herman De Saint Coquille. She is very down to earth, kind, and smart. She sometimes can be REALLY annoying, but she is a reall nice character to choose as your wife. Your rival for her is Ray and her brother is max
He's clearly worried about what this might mean initially, which is his motivation for pushing Romeo back towards Rosaline. However, as his thinking progresses, he begins to come to the conclusion that if they (Romeo and Juliet) marry, then his city may successfully evolve from the current state of violence so prevalent in Verona.
Romeo didn't really love Rosaline. He as just playing at being in love, being what he thought guys in love were like. When the real thing came along the Rosaline fantasy vanished into thin air.
