Which is used for oxygen transportation in living organisms?
Im guessing you were asking whether diffusion, osmosis or active transport is used for oxygen transportation in organisms. Diffusion is the random movement of particles from an area with a high concentration to an area with a lower concentration. So in humans for eample, gas exchange occurs in the lungs where there is a lower concentration of oxygen in the blood and a high conc of oxygen in the lungs. The oxygen then diffuses into the blood.

Asked in Earthworms
What do earthworms need to breathe?
Diffusion allows an earthworm to get the oxygen it needs to survive. Remember, an earthworm needs oxygen just like we do, and its cells are constantly using oxygen to perform cell processes. This means the amount of oxygen inside the earthworm will always be less (lower concentration) than the area outside of the earthworm (higher concentration). This is great news for the earthworm! New oxygen from the environment is constantly diffusing into the cell to replace the oxygen that is used up. hope this helps, :) A girl~

What is a negative feed back mechanism for the correction of low blood oxygen concentration?
Oxygen is very vital for your survival. So you tend to think that low oxygen is a powerful stimulator for the respiration. But then, this is not correct. Oxygen is very sparingly soluble in the water or plasma. So oxygen is not used to regulate the respiration. Instead, the carbon bi oxide is highly soluble in water or plasma and the same forms the acid after dissolution. So the concentration of the carbon bi oxide can be easily measured by the respiration centre cells of your brain. That is why the concentration of carbon bi oxide is the stimulating or suppressing factor in case of the respiration. Increase in carbon bi oxide concentration stimulates the respiration and vise verse.

Why can carbon dioxide be used to put out fires?
When carbon dioxide is used to put out fires, there is a high concentration of carbon dioxide in the air and it blocks the combustion reaction (fire) from using the oxygen in the air. Combustion reactions such as fire require oxygen, so when the oxygen is blocked from reacting, the fire becomes smaller because there is less reacting.

What is the process known as when carbon dioxide enters leaves?
Photosynthesis. The reaction where CO2 enters the leaves through diffusion and is released as O2. Diffusion - The movement of particles from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration - From the air (area of high concentration) to inside the leaf (area of low concentration). In photosynthesis, the chlorophyll (green substances inside the leaf cells) convert the CO2 along with water taken up the roots to create oxygen and glucose. The glucose is used by the plant to produce fruits and to take up water by the roots. The oxygen diffuses out of the leaves as there is a higher concentration of oxygen inside leaf then there is outside the leaf. The word equation for photosynthesis is: Carbon Dioxide + Water --> Oxygen + Glucose The symbol equation for photosynthesis is: 6CO2 + 6H2O --> 6O2 + C6H12O6
