You can see most constellations from there; except for a few that are so far south that they are constantly under the horizon. If you live "x" degrees north of the equator, then any stars in a region "x" degrees from the celestial south pole will always be under the horizon for you.

How are constellations important in the solar system?

There are no constellations in the solar system. They can only be seen from Earth and from the other planets in the Solar System. They can help us learn about the rest of space and the Solar System itself. We can also study stars in the constellations and help us learn about our own star, the Sun.

Because we are in the Milky Way galaxy, where there are huge numbers of stars in every direction from us that can be seen any time the sun isn't up in the sky.

Why are constellations seen in the summer sky different then in the winter sky?

This is caused by the earth's rotation around the sun. There are five constellations in the sky all year around, but the earth's rotational path will only allow us to observe the ones that are closest during that season's orbit.

What are the other constellations in the sky?

Ursa Major (big bear), Ursa Minor, there are quite a few. The sun passes through 13 constellations, and these are known as the zodiac, and are quite familiar to people interested in astrology. Cancer, Taurus, Libra, Gemini, etc. In the southern hemisphere are more constellations not visible to us northern latitude folks. Arrangements of stars that look like something (such as the Big Dipper) are more properly known as "asterisms."

Why are some constellations visible during winter months and not during the summer?

Because the constellations that are visible during winter are on the other side of the sun during the summer. During the year the earth spins around the sun like a big satellite. So while the earth is constantly moving, the distance that the stars are away from us cause them to look stationary from our point of view some constellations can only be seen a few months out of the year.
