The Anzacs (Australian, New Zealand Army Corp) Went to war in WW1 because of alliances with the British monarch, because Australia and New Zealand are ruled under the same monarch, Australians and New Zealanders had no choice but to fight for the King and Country. To cut a long story short, they went to war because we had to fight for Britain, because of our alliances, if New Zealand and Australia ever needed help, Britain would come to our aid, but in this case we needed to aid Britain in defeating Germany.
