You can use Yellow (G-05) for pre 1996 nissans or Orange (Dex-Cool) for 1996 and older. These are sold at any auto parts store under the Zerex, Prestone, or Peak brand names. You don't have to use the expensive dealer stuff.

Although you don't have to use the Zerex brand (Prestone brand or Peak brand work just as well) take a look at the Zerex chart for application to any car: SEE: Related Links.

If topping off, pay attenction to the color of the antifreeze in your car. You don't want to mix any combination of green, orange/red, or yellow as they have different corrosion inhibitor chemistries and mixing them diminishes the ability of the corrosion inhibiting properties. If the color is brown, or looks dirty change it as soon as possible, as two kinds have been mixed.

Excuse me but "Pre 1996" and "1996 and older"ARE THE SAME THING.

You can use any brand coolant in ANY Nissan before 2001 when engines were redesigned. Dex Cool works very well and is very gentle (non-corrsive)
