What could b wrong with my 91 corsica sometimes runs great other times rough n will kill when you stop or slow down but will start right back up but kills when you put in drive or reverse?

Sounds like the torque converter is staying locked up when it should be unlocking as soon as you touch the brake. I had this problem with an 88 Beretta. It could be a sticky solenoid valve in the transmission, or the torque converter is bad. A transmission shop could better diagnose this by seeing the vehicle.
