What causes temp light to come on 1998 vw cabrio?

The antifreeze is low in the reservoir.

Have a 1995 Explorer XLT that smells like antifreeze every time you stop it although most of the time there is not antifreeze missing Any Suggestions?

You could have to much coolant in your reservoir tank. If it is above the fill line it will come out of the overflow. Some of this overflow could get onto your engine and be causing the odor your smelling. Good Luck! It could be a leak, and the anti-freeze "steam" can only enter the car when stopped. http://www.autozone.com/servlet/UiBroker?UseCase=S001&UserAction=viewSimpleDiagInfo&Parameters=info

How do I fix a2005 Polaris Sportsman 500 whos fan will not stop running?

Is the temp. light coming on? Check your coolant level in the overflow reservoir If the level is to low it could cause the fan to run more than normal. I have a 2002 Sportsman 500 and my light was coming on and the fan was running more than normal. I had a pin hole leak in the tubing between the radiator and the overflow reservoir This was causing it to leak antifreeze and allowing it to suck air into the cooling system. Which was causing my fan to run and my temp light to come on.

How do you add antifreeze to a 1989 735IL?

You add 50/50 antifreeze water mix at the reservoir in your engine compartment. It is located centered, under the windshield. This engine has to have the air bleed out very well. With engine OFF, turn the heater controls to maximum heat. On the thermostat housing, where upper radiator attaches, there are two thermosensors, with electrical connections and a 19mm plug in between them. Remove this plug and it's compression washer, add your antifreeze mix slowly to the reservoir. When you see antifreeze come out of this port, reinstall the plug with washer. There is a small bleed bolt, I think 8mm, that needs to be loosen. It is located on the top of the thermostat housing. Add coolant until it runs freely from the bleed bolt, then tighten it. Continue to add antifreeze mix to proper level in reservoir. Install cap in reservoir and start engine. Turn heater fan on max and monitor the temp gauge. You might have to repeat the bleeding process.

Which of the following COULD cause the brake warning light to come on?

Brake fluid in reservoir below acceptable level.

How do you remove the Wiper reservoir from a 1997 Chevy Suburban?

Drain the fluid from the reservoir. Reservoir drain tube. Remove the wiper reservoir retaining bolts. The wiper reservoir will come off.

How do you bleed the antifreeze valve on a 2001 Chrysler Sebring?

After you have completed work on the cooling system and you begin to replace the coolant, open the bleeder a couple turns. As you pour coolant into the reservoir air trapped will escape out the bleeder. As soon as you see coolant come out of the bleeder close the bleeder valve and continue to add coolant to the reservoir until you have reached the full mark. Replace cap on reservoir. Allow vehicle to run through a drive cycle and cool down. Top off reservoir to full mark if necessary.

What mixture of antifreeze does your car need?

Ford vehicles come from the factory with a 50 / 50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water

How does clean water come in the kitchen?

It comes from the Reservoir.

Should antifreeze mix be 5050?

Ford vehicles come from the factory with 50 / 50 mix of antifreeze and distilled water Ford says minimum 40 % antifreeze and maximum 60 % antifreeze for proper engine protection

Why is your car losing antifreeze?

Cars loose Anti Freeze for one or more of the following reasons: 1. A leak in the radiator, or a broken radiator hose, or somewhere from the engine block. 2. If the antifreeze radiator an reservoir are overfilled, then when the engine heats up and expands the antifreeze. It has nowhere to go but out the overflow tube. 3. There is a crack in either the intake manifold or heads Gaskets, allowing the engine's vacuum to suck up the antifreeze slowly and burn it up with the fuel/air detonations. If severe enough, it will cause white smoke to come out with the exhaust fumes.

What is the best mixture ratio of antifreeze to water for your car?

Ford vehicles come from the factory with a 50 / 50 mix of distilled water and the appropriate antifreeze . They state not to exceed 60 % antifreeze
