There is a Technical Service Bulletin on this particular problem. Easy enough to look up. There is no air filter in this system,I own one.
Have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
You could have a short from the controlls to the fan
I had this problem on a 94 Bonneville after we had fixed the brakes. After I disconnected the battery and reconnected the light went off and the dinging stopped. Not sure if this was related or just coincidence.
See the answer to 2000 Bonneville Neutral Safety Switch Location. Had the same problem and that was my fix. You can install a separate Start Button in the Starter circuit to start the car also.
Could be a broken belt in one of your radial tires. Have them "spin balanced" to see it this is the problem.
camshaft or crankshaft sensor, or fuel injector circuit problem! This is from the actron code scanner book.
It can be the relay or fuse or the motor itself. It needs to be checked out by a knowledgeable person.
I had this problem with my 1994 Bonneville SE. would try checking the transmission fluid level(that was the problem with mine). If the transmission fluid level is where it's supposed to be then it could be that the transmission is going out or you may need to check the torque converter. I think that can also cause the problem.
I HAD A 1990 BONNEVILLE I HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH.IT TURNED OUT TO BE THE CRANK SENSOR.ITS BEHIND THE HARMONIC BALANCER. HOPE THIS HELPS
I FOUND IT MYSELF.IT IS IN THE HIGH PRESSURE LINE IN THE AREA UNDERNEATH THE BATTERY.I FOUND IT BY FEELING THE LINE.THERE IS A BIG NUT CONNECTING THE LINE AND 1 SIDE OF THE LINE WAS HOT AND I FELT THE LINE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE LINE AND IT WAS HOT SO I KNEW WHERE MY PROBLEM WAS.THE FILTER IS CLOGGED SO MY A/C IS BLOWING HOT.
Had the problem with Bonneville not starting....turned out to be the security module. Your mechanic should be able to bypass the security module with a $15 part from Radio Shack. Pretty easy fix.
the battery is flat or its to old
