Try locating and testing or changing the TPS (Throttle Position Sensor) Or if it's not in gear it could be the rev limiter keepin you from over revving & blowing your engine.
Several things could be making the Lumina growl. Check the belts and pulleys on the front of the engine. Check the engine mounts as well. Either of these areas can cause the problem of the growling noise.
Could be the Throttle Positioning Sensor or the Idle Air Control Valve
The fuel pressure regulator or the fuel pump could be bad on the 19900 Lumina. Check both of these to start troubleshooting the problem.
my chev aveo cant get a spark to the coil. What could be the problem?
You can ask customer service on this website to get your answer.
If your 1990 Lumina has gas in the oil pan, then there could be a stuck injector flooding the engine. There can also be a blown head gasket. Driving the vehicle can destroy the engine.
have you checked the oil if not do so it could be that m8 or the water could not have clean water to cool the engine check it out . have you checked the oil if not do so it could be that m8 or the water could not have clean water to cool the engine check it out .
If the brake lights are not coming on in your car and you have changed the bulbs and the fuses with no results, you could also check the wiring in your '98 Chevrolet Lumina. The wires may be damaged or even broken.
Yes. You'll need to change the exhaust and cooling systems.
It really could mean anything. You will have to have the code read with a diagnostic scanner. Any good auto parts store will usually do this for free for you. Or if you happen to know someone with one. That is all I can say. Good luck.
This could be caused by MANY things. I'd start with the O2 sensor and the EGR valve. Check engine light on? Have the codes read and start there.
The 2001 Lumina has the OBDII system. The only way to access the data is with an OBD2 reader (about $120 ) from any FLAPS (Friendly Local Auto Parts Store) Or you could take the car to a dealer and pay them to read the codes. Purchase the Haynes manual for the Lumina so you can look up the codes and figure out whats wrong.
