The symptoms you describe tend to indicate that the battery voltage is getting lower and lower, which suggests something wrong with the charging system, or the battery is beginning to fail. Depending on where you are, many of the "chain" auto parts stores will test your battery and charging system for free if you can drive the vehicle into their parking lot.
Suddenly, the lights dimmed. She dimmed the lights.
Fuse for parking lights probably blown.
low charge, rough idle, dimmed lights. With the vehicle running and headlights on or wipers on the alternator should be charging around 15v 15.5v
i walked over to the electric chair and DIMMED the lights before i gave the prisoner the charge.
Headlights, interior lights, parking lights,Headlights, interior lights, parking lights,
I had this problem and it was a bad alternator.
I have a '91 Eddie Bauer and I don't know if my answer applies to a 93 model but get an electrician to check your dip/high beam and indicator unit on the steering column. I replaced mine and the problem of no dimmed headlights was fixed. The light switch always seems to run hot with lights on. Probably a short SOMEWHERE. You have to trace the wires to find it.
humm, This is strange because the DRLs (day time running lights) usually function from the same bulb as the headlights, in other words the headlights are always on so people dont forget to turn their lights on at night so if this is the case you have no problem. The only thing that might indicate a problem would be if the dash lights do not come on when the headlights are on, If this is the case then the turn signal switch could be at fault, otherwise I see no problem with the lights. Granted this could be the case or not but based on the question this is the best diagnosis I can provide, Good luck and I hope this helped
Brake lights should NOT be effected by the headlights. Brake light function is completely independent of the headlights. Assuming you are not refering to the tail lights, or marker lights, which are supposed to come when the head lights are turned on. Not having brake lights when the head lights are on is a big safety problem and should be corrected.
Perhaps you turned on the interior lights when you were adjusting the headlights?
Check the fuse for the headlights. It is probably open.
Blown fuse or the lights are just blown and need replacing.
