ignition coil! mine did the same
Try changing your ignition coil....they're a common problem with hondas.
Honda civic Lx 2000 wont start it was idling really low it just turn off on me now it wont start it cranks over like wants to start but nothing
Buy a battery with the most you can find. The more the better especially if you live in a cold climate. Anyplace that sells batteries can tell you the correct size.
The ignition switch relay isn't recognizing the gears. There may also be a problem with the coil as well not allowing fire in gear.
its your distibutor coil.....i have a 95 civic same problem... Honda typically has this problem... if your car starts right up on cool days or at night ..but cranks & wont start in the daytime or under high temperatures outside, its your coil.
I have the same problem with my 1997 civic Dx

You will need to change the brakes and rotors on the Honda Civic to see if that fixes them. If not, take the car to a mechanic and have them fix the problem.
If a 2001 Honda Civic will not go into gear, the problem is probably the transmission. Otherwise, it may be the shift mechanism that is the cause.
I have a 1991 Honda civic automat with fuel Injection and yes it has 2 carbies . I am having a problem starting the car in hot weather . I am in Australia . Anyone knows the cost to replace them in AU ? Thanks beforehand . Bob K .
