I had the same issue and the problem was the main feed fusible link was bad
the wire looked good but the link is inside the part where you can see I replaced it and bingo the dash panel worked properly
Check the alignment of your pully and also look for a cracked or broken pully.
I had an 85 same problem with lights had to replace the switch on steering column about 150.00 for part from Nissan
are they the same size? did the car the alternator come off have the same options or more than the one your going to put it on as the amps could be less and you have a/c on your car and head lights on same time could cause problems you don't want
One can find a Nissan 300ZX at a local used car dealership and at many websites. Among the websites are Autotrader, eBay, Amazon, Cars for Sale, and Car Gurus.
No. None of the Z32 300zx's have them. (1990-1996) There is no option for it either. The only thing you could do is buy an aftermarket wheel that is smaller.
In the 1988 Nissan the alternator, instrument panel, and backup lights shared a fuse. Before changing a fuse see if the backup lights work (have someone watch when you are in reverse). If the neutral start/backup light switch is broken internally, it can be blowing the fuse when you put the car in reverse.
Depending on how dim, it could be your battery, alternator, or poor power supply at the headlight socket. Poor power supply meaning corroded wires causing high voltage drop. Have the battery and alternator tested and go from there.
could be an alternator
It could be the alternator or an electrical issue
Either battery or alternator going bad, Advance Auto, or Auto Zone can check this for you! This happened to my truck, but my memory is not to good! More likely the alternator. yeah this happened to me on the freeway, i figured the computer needed to be reset but when the brake and battery lights go on, the alternator is going bad and you might have a half day of driving before it drains your battery
mass airflow sensor of head tip sensor could also be catalytic converter
mostly likely when you got the overcharging a fuse or relay was blown. need to locate and replace fuse most likely but possibly a relay.
