Shift point setting may not properly set at the right pressure. This is controlled by the TV or shift cable. If you look where the air butterfly plate is under the hood, or air control, the 2nd cable attached next to the throttle cable on the side is the TV cable. There is a metal tab that can be pushed in to release the cable housing to adjust the transmission shift points. It only takes a couple of clicks at a time to make a difference in your shift pattern, so go a little at a time.
Put a small funel in the spout where you remove the transmission dipstick and pour slowly
Is a 1999 chevy tahoe transmission compatible with a 2001 chevy tahoe transmission?
The only governor I can think of is part of the automatic transmission the helps to control the shift points at which the transmission changes gear ratios.
NO it will not.
The transmission in the 1995 Chevy 1500 is the 4L60E Transmission.
No. Major changes in transmissions during that time gap
A worn transmission gear can cause a Chevy Impala to whine when the gears change. A bad fan belt can also cause this.
Yes. There were no major changes between the two. NEW ANSWER: Yes it will fit. But the problem is that the 1990 computer and transmission wiring harness will not operate that 1993 model 4L60E or the 4L80E transmission. Your 1990 model had the 700R4 in it and that is not electronic controlled like the 93 is.
It will bolt up. But it will not work. The 96 transmission is a computer controlled transmission/ Electronic. The 79 is not.
That is the 4l60 or 700r4 there should not be a swap issue if the 92 had overdrive.
It will be a 700R4 transmission
4L80e transmission
