Could be a result from a bad spark plug(s), spark plug wire(s), distributor cap or rotor.
Without much to go on, I would suggest you look for a vacuum leak, especially if the engine runs good under acceleration and only shakes and shudders at idle.

The jerking and bucking is probably along with a pop sound from the engine. This always indicated a LEAN condition with the Engine. In other words, it is NOT getting enough fuel to run under a load or that speed.
these cars are under rated... if you keep good care of them and you know what your doing, they could overpass civics and other imports easily...
