In my 1999 Alero, it did this and it was traced back to the Power Steering pump going bad.
first of all, the pads may be semi-metallic and have chunks of metal in them which may cause the squeal, change to a less metallic pad may help, also the backing of the pads should have an anti-squeal gel applied to them, when you apply the brakes, the pads will hyper vibrate and can cause a squeal. The gel will stop the vibrating. first of all, the pads may be semi-metallic and have chunks of metal in them which may cause the squeal, change to a less metallic pad may help, also the backing of the pads should have an anti-squeal gel applied to them, when you apply the brakes, the pads will hyper vibrate and can cause a squeal. If the brake pads come with shims or other anti-rattle hardware and it is not used on the vehicle, the brake pads will vibrate against the rotor as they are being applied and that will cause them to squeal.
Are the rear brakes working normally?
That depends on how, when and where it is squealing. For example, if the brakes squeal when applied, the brake pads are probably worn down. A squeal from the engine compartment whenever the engine is running could be a loose serpentine belt (especially if the squeal changes a little when you rev the engine).
There are a couple of possibilities. One is lack of lubrication of brake system moving and/or contact points such as between back of pads and caliper housing and/or piston. Another could be that, the rotors/discs are warped/distorted and need to be machined or more preferably, replaced. If you replaced the front brakes (example) and you still have a squeal, it's possible it may be coming from the rear brakes.
A loose, cracked or dry belt.
It may be your CV joints
Check the belt on your alternator. If it is not tight enough it will squeal on a Rodeo. Be sure to get it checked soon or your belt could fall off or burn up your alternator and then you are stuck!!
It could squeal, squeak, moan, whine, groan, and leak oil.It could squeal, squeak, moan, whine, groan, and leak oil.
It could be that the connector wire broke in the rear. It happened to me.
worn brakes could be the cause or check the A frame bushings
If the brakes on a Mazda 6 are squeaking, it could be indicative of a problem. The brake pads could be incorrectly set.
