What could cause my 1997 Chevy 3500 engine to stall when the brake is pushed?

Does this happen when you come to a complete stop or while you are coming to a stop? Is this Truck Automatic or Standard? Brake booster could be something, Torque Converter Clutch Valve not disengaging(Automatic).

Your Saturn is stuck in reverse Could it be the clutch linkage?

There isn't any linkage, it has a cable, check to see if the cable is loose. There is a U clip that holds the cable in place,if the U clip is in place and there isn't any slack in the cable, it could be your tranny. Is the clutch disengaging? If when you push the clutch in the engine can be turned over or the car can be pushed, it is not a problem with the clutch.

What could insufficient free play in the clutch cause?

Why does my truck move with the clutch pushed in?

If it doesn't move if in neutral, then it could mean the cable needs to be adjusted, or the clutch plate needs replacing.

Your Honda Prelude 1992 with a new clutch won't engage into gear what is your problem?

If it will go into gear when the engine is off but not when the engine is running, the clutch is not disengaging. It could be the clutch, possibly warped or put in wrong, or it could be the hydraulic clutch mechanism.

What could cause a Ford Fiesta to not start?

Mazda miata won't start could it be the clutch?

It could be the clutch safety switch. Does the engine crank and not start, or is it not cranking. If it cranks, then no, it could not be the clutch. If it won't crank then you can climb under the dash and look for the switch that closes when the clutch is pushed all the way to the floor (big white plastic switch). This switch has two large wires going into it. You can unplug the switch and jump the two female connectors in the wiring harness that led to the switch. A large paper clip works, but don't let it touch anything metal while you're cranking the engine. If the engine now cranks and starts normally, the switch is bad and needs to be replaced. Hope this helps.

2000 dodge ram 1500 you hear chattering when its running and when you sink clutch half inch chattering goes away?

Why don't you take it to a mechanic before you ruin your truck by riding the clutch? The chattering could be engine knock because your engine is out of tune. When you ride the clutch, the clutch slips and puts less strain on your engine as you are burning out your clutch.
