This is only one answer to your question that could cause this problem. There are many things that could cause an engine to turn over but not start.

I have '93 Pathfinder w/V6. It would start and run, but absolutely no power. Would run about 45 or to top end, but would take forever to get there. Could not pull itself uphill and maintain any speed. Found the passenger bank cam had jumped one tooth. Replaced belt, etc... took care of problem. Hope that helps....
