Nauru, Caroline Islands, Marianas, New Guinea and other Pacific islands, German Southwest Afrika (now Namibia), Tanganyika (now Tanzania), Togo and Cameroon in West Africa, Ruanda-Urundi (now Burundi and Rwanda) (there were smaller colonies elsewhere). All colonies were lost during or after World War I.

Germany had the following colonies in Africa from about 1885-1914: # German East Africa (corresonded roughly to modern Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi). # German South West Africa (corresponds to modern Namibia). # Cameroon. # Togo.
