Imperialism helped bcause both countries wanted to persuade each other to do what they wanted the other to do and they wouldnot so they each got mad and started to fight.
The negative aspect of imperialism was that a powerful nation could become dependent on a colony they created in an under developed nation. Or if they lost a sphere of influence, when that sphere was taken away either by a revolt or a change in domestic policies. Imperialism also had a manpower cost. Military resources were required to keep the benefits of imperialism on going.
Germany and United States where working to make them work. United States got it first and used first on Japan over the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Military Imperialism is a type of military policiy which calls for the creation of an "imperial empire", as it could be called. Usualy such policies exist in countries where there is a diety or soveirgn figure, and some examples are the military imperialism of Japan in the 1930's and 40's, during which time the Japanese military invaded many nearby islands, and large swaths of mainland China in an attempt to create a vast Pacific empire.
First World in what sense? At its inception, First World was used in reference to countries which had joined NATO, Second World was used for Warsaw Pact countries, and Third World was for the nonaligned countries. In that context, only the United Kingdom and Canada would have been considered First World countries, as they were the only NATO members. Some sources would also cite Australia and New Zealand, which weren't NATO members, but were members of SEATO prior to its dissolution.
The major difference was "new" imperialism took entire countries. Old colonial ways had small port cities or a city here and there...new imperialism was on a much larger scale. England is always the example to follow. One of their interesting colonial evolutions happened in India. In the 1600s India was ruled by the Moguls (Muslims from Afghanistan/Pakistan) and the Brits slowly gained a foothold in southern port cities. Eventually through armed conflict the British took the entire "country" of India. Interesting side note....the Brits fought the Moguls for control of territories in India. The Moguls used early forms of rocketry (This was during the early 1700s). The U.S. national anthem has the famous line "and the rocket's red glare." This anthem was written during the War of 1812, when U.S and British forces battled, and these rockets used by the Brits were actually a Mogul invention. Sorry, got off-course...So anywho...look at the British conquest of India, and others in Africa, as an example of old imperialism to new imperialism...
The President summoned his aides with an imperious gesture.

Ethnocentrism is the express of superiority over other races. For example, this used to be the philosophy of Europeans during the ages of imperialism. Today, no countries truly express ethnocentrism at a national level, but perhaps North Korea.

The concept of "second world countries" is no longer commonly used. It was previously used to refer to communist or socialist countries during the Cold War. Some countries that were historically considered second world included countries like the Soviet Union, China, and Cuba.
Imperialism and militarism made necessary the use of force to defend or secure national interests for the countries involved. Nationalism on the other hand was used to inspire the people to support their countries' involvement in the war.
There is no universally accepted definition of "third world country" as it was a term used during the Cold War to categorize countries based on political ideologies. However, based on common understanding, roughly one-third of the world's countries could be considered third world countries.
