As the population grew in India due to new hospitals and medicines introduced to Indians by the British during Imperialism, it caused the people to live longer than they usually did. They started to outgrow the food supply and starved to death. The cash crop economy did not help because farmers were farming tea and cotton instead of food. They had no food.
The British who colonized India had a very formalized sense of White racial superiority and Desi (improperly called "Brown people") inferiority. It was believed that Indians could, at best, emulate the British and those who did would be called "civilized". Racial discrimination was especially intense towards those individuals who were very religious, but not Christian. The most antagonistic relationship was between the British Christians and Desi Muslims.

The British did.
India was once a british colony(:
Imperialism or Colonialism.
Not currently. New Imperialism was a policy of the British Empire from the early 1800s to the early 1900s. The British Empire set up many colonies throughout Africa during that time.
The imperialism that helped force the importation of opium to China by the British empire resulted in nothing "good". The Chinese were exploited, and this only helped to increase imperialism. Never a good thing.
One might say when the British poked their noses in during the 1800s........ Ooops, bit of anti imperialism there ! (& yes, I am British)
Only the British fought a war to open China's markets.
