biscuits are thought to have been first created in Asia -most likely India- in the form of a spiced cracker. Created through a mixture of flour, egg, and butter, the cracker-like treats were used as a supplement for naan bread (a bread mix) or poppadoms as they provided a third texture and taste and allowed for spices to be contained with them rather than added at a later date.
