Alencon Alencon is a market town famous for its lace making in 17th & 18th centuries. Visit the Musee de la Dentelle to see examples of 17th century lace work. Also visit the Musee des Beaux Arts which shows the history of the lace industry along with a collection of paintings. The Eglise de Notre Dame is a must see as the stonework on the facade resembles lace.
