An Iraqi offensive into Saudi Arabia resulted in the Battle of Khafji, but it was not a full-scale invasion, and both Saudi Arabia and Israel were bombarded by Iraqi missiles. After the war, General Schwarzkopf gave Saddam Hussein credit for the fantastic Gulf Coalition victory, because of Hussein's inaction and failure to invade other Persian Gulf States before Operation Desert Shield could be fully implemented.
