I am reading the Chris Mathews book on JFK and he was truly the right man for the right time. At the time he was killed he had all ready set into motion the pull out of our men from Vietnam , he proposed our space program going to the moon, began the peace corp, worked at getting the civil rights act passed ( it was finally passed in 1965. After his death), and gave the country a feeling that it could accomplish anything it set out to do.
