Technically Abraham Lincoln was not assassinated during the Civil Rights Movement. Yes, he did try to stop slavery, but the Civil Rights Movement was through the 1950's into the 1960's. John F. Kennedy is the president assassinated while in a Convertable during a motorcade by Lee Harvy Oswald.
They had all rights because they were given to them by their Creator and not by any government. Their rights were not being protected by the government who's sole purpose is to protect our rights. The government failed them and had to be changed.
