Prince Henry opened up the first school of navigation and astronomical studies, he invented the caravel, he inspired christopher columbus to find the east indies etc.
One of the reasons Prince Henry became a navigator is because of his love for travel.Another reason is because he was inspired by his grandfather King Fedor The Third who led the expedition to find spices . Also Prince Henry didn't like when things seemed unfair(wich in his opinion was the cost of the trading route) so he tried to do something about it.
His goal was to find a route to the rich spice trade of the indies and to explore the west coast of Africa.
