Same subjects all children study, but she would have gone to a Black only school.
She didn't go to college after she graduated high school in 1934 she began work and was a housekeeper for a white woman on the day she was arrested for not giving up her seat. Black women were unable to attend college when she was young.
Rosa Parks was unable to attend college because when she graduated high school in 1934 women and blacks were not allowed to enroll in southern colleges. School desegregation didn't take place until 1954 with the supreme court ruling of Brown v Topeka School board of Education and it wasn't until the Civil Rights Movement of the 1960's that the first black man was enrolled in a southern college in Alabama. In 1970 only one in 50 students were enrolled in non black colleges was black, so Rosa Parks never had the chance to attend colleges. She became a housekeeper.
She didn't and I am not sure she graduated high school. She was a housekeeper for a white woman. In the 1940's / 50's African American citizens didn't have the same rights as other people. It wasn't until Brown v Board of Education that black students were able to go to white schools. The little girl who took that first step was Louise Brown and that was in 1957. She was in second grade and spent the rest of the year alone in a room with a teacher. People yelled at her everyday as she came into the school. Black citizens couldn't use the public restrooms, go to the public Swimming Pools, eat in the same place as whites, sit in the white area of the bus, drink out of drinking fountains reserved for whites, or be buried in the same cemetery as whites. Rosa Parks may have wanted to go to college but in her time she could only go to the one or two colleges that took black students. Most of the state Universities didn't take black students and a few private ones did. When it came down to it she didn't need to. She has gone down in history as courageous woman who made a difference. Can't ask for anything better than that.
Rosa Parks did not go to college. There were no colleges who would enroll a black woman -__________-
