Alexander Hamiltion was a firm believer in the "elastic clause" and thought that the Constitution could be bent to the federal government's will, to insure its supremacy. Jefferson wanted to limit the federal government's power and thought that the Constitution was to insure the liberties of the people and not the power of the government, so his interpretation was very scrict.
Thomas Jefferson wanted to add the Bill of Rights to the US Constitution. He wanted to do this so that the federal government could not gain so much power as to jeopardize the freedoms of the people.
He felt that the Constitution did not authorize the government to create a bank.
The Constitution did not specifically grant the government the power to create the bank.
Thomas Jefferson disliked the Constitution because he thought that the constitution gave to much power to the Government. He did not like the fact that there wasn't any draft of a bill of rights in the Consitution and also, how the president didn't have a limited time of presidency (presidential terms).
