Crayola did not invent the crayon. Records show that Europe was the birthplace of the "modern" crayon. The first crayons were made from a mixture of charcoal and oil. Later, powdered pigments of various hues replaced the charcoal. It was discovered that substituting wax for the oil in the mixture made the sticks sturdier and easier to handle. Crayola Crayons were invented by Binney & Smith in 1902 and first offered for sale in 1903. Alice (Stead) Binney, a school teacher and wife of co-founder Edwin Binney, suggested the company manufacture an inexpensive alternative to imported crayons of that era. The trade name Crayola was coined by Mrs. Edwin Binney who joined the French word "craie," meaning stick of chalk and "ola" from the word "oleaginous," meaning oily. Crayola Crayons are made primarily from paraffin wax and color pigment.
=Crayola products are much more well made than RoseArt products, for the fact that Crayola crayons are harder to break, easier to use, and don't have as waxy of an apperance on the paper when drawn with. So to answer your question, Yes, Crayola products are better than RoseArt products.=
it depends on what type of clay from crayola and how much of the amount you want to buy
Crayola Crayons were first introduced in 1903. They were invented because the Binney's (of Binney & Smith, the company that created them) thought that there wasn't a quality crayon in the market at a reasonable price point. In the beginning, Crayola crayons were neither the first crayons out there nor were they even the best crayons out there. But, they key was that they were a very high quality crayon for an inexpensive cost. That formula and the branding they would later adopt helped propel the Crayola name to one of the most dominant product recognition percentages of any product ever. There were many reasons crayons were used back then. The most common were their use in schools. Water colors were messy and chalk dust was a problem from blackboards at the time. They were also made safe from consumption; a big concern as earlier products were toxic and not considered usable in a school setting with young children. There were also industry needs. Pictures used crayons to colorize them and even before cameras the crayon was considered a good medium for drawings when you were out in the field and couldn't lug around a full artist kit of paints, etc.
The people who make Crayola brand pencils should be able to tell you
