What did people do for leisure in Colonial America?
When possible, colonist organized "bees" or "frolics" to combine work with leisure. At these events, colonists would work together to get a specific job done. This included quilting bees, where quilts were worked on, and tree chopping bees, where colonists would chop down bothersome trees at another colonists request. Colonists also played cricket and has barn raisings, where the men would build a barn, and the women would prepare a feast. Colonial children's toys were scarce, but consisted of objects like corn husk dolls.
