I am a white male, 6'2" and 195 pd, and went to high school in the 1950's.
I got up at 5 am, 7 days a week, and started the day by milking cows and in winter breaking the ice on a pond; my bother milked the cows of an evening (decided by a fight in the barn about twice a year. I never won afternoon milking until he was out of school and gone, then I got both milkings.
I went to school (a c student) and at the end of the day, went to football or Basketball practice and played a game on Friday night.
After school, and Saturday and Sunday, I worked in a gas station/garage, there were no convenience stores in those days.
Usually went to church on Sunday monring.
I dated some, not a lot, and was able to go out for $5 dollars. A $1 of gas, at 19 cents a gallon. Two Hamburgers for 25 cents each and a coke for 10 cents; a movie for $1.25 each and popcorn for 15 cents.
I started college in California in 1962 studying Architecture and finished college in Oklahoma in Electrical Engineering in 1978.
