The Treaty of Paris changed the 13 colonies, by ending, first of all, the French and Indian War, which led to the Revolution.

It also gave the British all of the territory the French had west of the Appalachian mountains, however after the Proclamation Line of 1763, Colonists were banned from settling west of the Appalachians because of the negative reactions from the

Native Americans in the area.

They were no longer ruled by Great Britain, and it was basically a cease-fire. The Treaty of Paris was in response to The Battle of Yorktown. Fun fact: At Yorktown, George Washington smiled, and it was described to be very rare.
