Caused the activation and deployment of the world's only battleship during that time period; the Iowa class USS New Jersey. Which during her deployment to the gunline in Vietnam fired over 20,000 rounds of artillery, nearly 6,000 of which were from her massive 16" guns. The remainder were secondary batteries of 5 inch shell fire. 3. Aerial bombing of the North resulted in air to air combat between the above mentioned US jet aircraft and North Vietnamese Air Force MiG-17; MiG-19; and MiG-21 jet aircraft.
