Aside from the mother's milk, you can start to mix a little wet kitten food with kitten milk. A lot of the time the mother will end up showing the babies how to eat. It is advisable to refrain feeding kitten dry food while they are so young as they will no have strong enough jaw muscles to crunch down - kibble is incredibly hard and brittle.
If the Mother is still there, They drink/eat her milk. If it is not there, Try using a baby bottle and put warm Kitten Milk Replacer in it and feed them every two hours. That should make them feel like there eating from there mother.
Some kittens might start taking an interest in very soft solid food around this age.
Well, it would be smart idea if you let the kitten drink milk from its mother. Though if it can't, you can go buy kitten formula somewhere to feed it. That's what I did when my cat wouldn't sit still long enough for them to feed, but by the time we noticed it, the kittens were really sick and they died. ._. So mother's milk or kitten formula, hurry, before they starve. D:
Kittens are normally weaned by the mother cat at around 4-5 weeks, so at 7 weeks they should be able to eat solid food. However, until about 8 weeks they have trouble chewing dry food, so you can either feed moist kitten food (or moisten dry kitten food) or get a special kitten food with extremely small kibbles that they don't really need to chew much.
They can also eat baby food as long as it's meat and extremely "bland" (a lot of things that humans use for flavoring meat dishes, like onions and garlic, are toxic to cats, so be sure it doesn't contain any of those).
no and don't do that any way
typically a 1 lb kitten is about one month old. Kittens should gain a pound per month until adult weight is reached.
They eat, poo, cry and sleep!
1 month old kittens should never be on sale; they are far too young. Kittens four weeks old are only just beginning to take interest in solid food, and are usually fully weaned around six to eight weeks. During and after eight weeks, kittens start to learn how to socialise and play with other cats and humans. Kittens should be only be on sale from when they are ten weeks old; eight weeks at the very earliest. Any earlier than that will cause the kitten to have behaviour problems when it is older and very difficult to manage and to curb such behaviour.
It is impossible to know how many kittens a cat will have without a vet exam. How old is the cat? Is it indoor or outdoor only? I have seen a 6 month old kitten give birth to a single kitten and abandon it. I have seen a 1 year old cat give birth to 4 kittens. Some have as many as 11 kittens. Also some breeds have larger or smaller litters. There is a lot to consider. All this is true, but on average a cat will have 1-8 kittens in a litter.
it should eat 1/2 a cup
yes
hi there i am not sure on that 1 i am still trying to find out how big an 8 week old kitten is
At about 1 year old it is an adult...
She felt that her kittens would be safer there.
i don't know what to do i don't have cats anymore but i used to have 1 female but she died 2 years ago now i have a dog
If the puppy is only 1 month old you need to soak puppy food in water, get it soft, mash with a fork and let puppy go for it.
