there are good deeds and bad deeds. The more good deeds you have the more chance you are going to go to Heaven (or Paradise). The more bad deeds you will be pushed Hell on the Day of Judgement; unless been forgiven by Allah (or God in English and same God worshiped in Christianity and Judaism).

There are two types of Sins in Islam. The minor and the major. The minor includes breaking a promise, telling lies, hurting someone by words etc. These sins can be forgiven by Allah Almighty if one seeks for true forgiveness. The major includes murder, stealing, bearing false witnesses, drinking alcohol, practicing fornication, ... etc. The majors are unforgivable. And the ones who commits the majors will face Allah's punishment in the day of Judgement unless he/she recognize his/her sin, repent and intend not to repeat it, and ask God sincerely for forgiveness.

No human can claim that he is free of sins. However, God (ALLAH) is love. He is merciful and love us.

He accepts our repentance if we sincerely repent and intend not to redo the sin again.

To support our praying to God for forgiveness we may give charities to the poor.
Follow righteous path with moral and ethical code of conduct. Observe Allah (God in English) in your sayings and doings.

However, no one is free of sins but if you sin you should repent of doing the sin by:

  • Admitting the sin
  • Intending not to do it again
  • Asking Allah for forgiveness
  • If the sin is related to one's rights or properties, then be fair and return the rights back.

Follow Islam fundamentals and morals. Refer to the questions below for more information and details.

According to the holy saying of our beloved Prophet Muhammad (SAW),( or he said something like this) when a Muslim commits sin, a black spot occurs on his heart. After repeated sinning, the heart becomes dark. These black spots may be removed by doing good acts. However, Almighty Allah's mercy is waster than the whole universe. He may forgive the sins of a SINNER even if they fill the whole universe with them.
