What do Muslims think of the big bang theory?

Muslims agree upon the big bang theory especially that it matches one of the Quran verses that was revealed from 14 centuries ago.

Quran says (21:30):

أولم ير الذين كفروا أن السماوات والأرض كانتا رتقا ففتقناهما ۖ وجعلنا من الماء كل شيء حي ۖ أفلا يؤمنون

(meaning English translation):

"Have those who disbelieved not considered that the heavens and the earth were a joined entity, and We separated them and made from water every living thing? Then will they not believe?"

It is one of the scientific miracles of Quran that proves Quran is not a human authored text. Otherwise, how do they know this theory from 14 centuries ago.

Realistically, the big bang theory and the development of modern science should have seen the demise of religion over 50 years ago. The big bang theory itself is just a piece of a large scientific puzzle that is existence. Religion, Christian, Islamic or otherwise was a method of explaining existence before we had the tools to measure and analyze the world around us accurately. In the modern age, religion is, as it has been for thousands of years, an obstacle to overcome in the mentality of society. In a nutshell, the big bang theory points to inaccuracies in Islam that have always existed.
